The Venues at 166 Commerce offer three specially designed bars to enjoy the best craft and domestic beers, as well as, the best spirits there are to offer.
Located at 166 Commerce Street in the beautiful Entertainment District of Historic Downtown Montgomery, the Alley Bar, Aviator Bar and Commerce Music Hall are located across the street from the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Conference Center and the Montgomery Performing Arts Centre.
Our Story
The Alley Bar, AV8R Bar and Commerce Music Hall were the creation and personal projects of the late Mike Watson who passed away in 2024. Watson opened the Alley Bar first in 2009 and has been a vital and integral part of the Downtown Montgomery night life.
The Alley Bar (The OG) offers a great variety of beers and spirits. Inside of the Alley Bar, you will find a full bar with plenty of seating. You will also find a corner dedicated to the Cuban Missile Crisis of the 60s.
Meticulously designed with memorabilia of the world of aviation and military history, AV8R bar provides the perfect cocktail bar experience to Downtown Montgomery. A full bar and all the aerospace features possible to offer, surround you as you enjoy the spirits of the night!
Formerly Commerce Beerworks, Commerce Music Hall offers live entertainment every Friday and Saturday. All types of musical genres are played and guests can enjoy a cold beer, cocktail and play some cornhole.
The Upper Room at The Venues is located just above the Alley Bar. It offers a space for any event up to 150 people. Host your wedding reception, birthday party or family reunion.
Hiram is a private bar located on the first floor of the Venues. It is a Whiskey inspired bar named for Hank Williams.
